Using expanded noun phrases to add extra detail to our writing - 05.11.24

Today we watched the short film Beyond the Lines which told the story of two young boys reading a detailed recount by their grandfather, explaining his experiences while storming the beaches of Normandy during WW2. The former soldier added so much detail that the young boys felt as though they were there. 

P6/7 then had a go at developing their note taking skills by writing key words that come to mind when we think of a warzone, as well imagining what our five senses would experience in a similar scenario. We then used our notes to create extended sentences with extra detail to create a detailed description for readers.
